Playground Equipment

The Bridge Timber range of playground equipment includes both traditional and contemporary designs incorporating mainly timber playground equipment, as we believe wood is one of the most durable and long-lasting materials available.

All products have a guarantee (terms vary, please contact us for individual item details), and all our timber is safely treated and comes with a 15-year guarantee against rot and fungal decay.

School Playground Design Services

We offer free site estimates with no obligation, carried out by our skilled playground design team, who can then plan entire playgrounds based upon your budget and requirements prior to any work being carried out. This can include full scale plan diagrams (on request) and costings to ensure the completed play space matches your design specifications and expectations.

Playground Installation

Over the past 12 years, we helped have plan, develop and install numerous innovative bespoke playgrounds, each with their own unique requirements and design challenges.

We have worked closely with both schools and councils to stringent Health and Safety guidelines to match the required specifications and reduce any likelihood of injury.

Our playground installation team are friendly, tidy, careful and passionate about the job. They are trained and fully DBS (formerly CRB) Checked. Through training and experience, they are able to project manage the whole operation, working through to develop the play space to meet your expectations of time, budget and quality.

Playground Safety

Bridge Timber are fully committed to the safety of playground areas, during both the development and installation and for the safety of all future users of the playground.

During the planning stage, our experts will assess the safety of your play area, considering many factors. This stage is absolutely crucial to ensure all points, such as the available space, pre-existing features and buildings, the age of the users and current surface foundation of the space, are addressed. Some of these factors are explained further below:

Safety Surfaces

It goes without saying that it is essential to make sure that the surface of any school playground design is safe to reduce the chances of injury if a child should fall. We have a range of Safety Flooring systems that can be seamlessly incorporated into any playground design and have been developed and tested in order to meet the criteria specified in the Head Injury Criterion (HIC), the standard for assessing the need and type of flooring required. The HIC is a measure of the likelihood of head injury arising from an impact. Our team are experienced in planning Safety Systems in play spaces and can assess the play space to advise on the suitability of each type.

Materials Used

All our products are carefully designed and manufactured to make sure they are safe and made from non-toxic environmentally sustainable materials. Where possible, we also try to source parts and products derived from reformed recycled materials to reduce the impact on the environment.

Aftercare and Maintenance

Our aftercare services are geared towards your requirements, providing peace of mind as well as real solutions to problems when you need them most. If you do have any problems or faults with any of the equipment, our customer services team are trained to know the best way to deal with most issues that may arise. We aim to respond to your concerns rapidly and professionally to minimise any disruption.

A school playground design looks great in the beginning but to maintain your play space in tip top condition, we offer fully comprehensive playground maintenance and management services. Our maintenance services can be based on an ‘as required basis’, or we can develop a customised service and maintenance package, where we can take care of maintaining the play space on an agreed timescale.

Additional to periodic inspection of the equipment, we would also recommend that your play space is maintained and serviced regularly primarily for safety, but also to preserve the equipment in a good condition.

Inclusive Play

Bridge Timber believe that play should be all inclusive, allowing as many children to participate in games and share in the play space. We understand that there are people who have difficulty accessing and using play equipment and this is why we try to incorporate access ramps, activity panels and other items at levels where people with different abilities are able to access them and become involved in play in each playground design we create.
